When a second victim is found within a few miles of their first stop after leaving Grenada, the probability of coincidence diminishes. As the trail of victims grows in the wake of their voyage north through the islands, the authorities become progressively more suspicious of some connection to Vengeance and her crew. While the Fitzgeralds wrestle with problems in their marriage and Bill struggles to convince the police that he's not the killer, the stalker focuses ever more intensely on Jane and Bill.
When I'm writing a book, the characters become quite real to me. In the course of this series I've come to know Dani and Liz as well as if they were members of my family. About midway through this one, I noticed that Dani has changed a bit. She's still a feisty, rough-and-ready woman, but she surprised me when she confessed to Liz that she actually liked the Fitzgeralds. I think Liz was shocked, too. She's become accustomed to running interference between Dani and their guests. Is Dani mellowing with age? Or is she finally losing the chip on her shoulder that she's carried since her abduction at the hands of the Bluewater Killer?
I'd be interested in your thoughts on how she's developing. Does she seem any different in Bluewater Stalker? From my perspective, her personality is becoming slightly more complex, and that opens some new possibilities for the seventh book in the series. While I contemplate their next adventure, I hope you enjoy another great sailing trip through the islands with Dani and Liz as they help their guests navigate an unfamiliar environment.

I'm on chapter 17 so far, and I am absolutely loving it. I am SO glad that I found you and your books. The Bluewater thrillers are the high points of my reading these days. Thank you! I'll give you more on my thoughts of the characters after I finish the book. I absolutely know what you mean about loving your characters and how they seem real and alive to you. Mine do too.
By the way, my wife and I are going to Savannah for a couple of days in June. Since you hail from there in the past, any suggestions as to what to not miss? We are staying at the Planters Inn, and love the old historic stuff. Also interested in Tybee island. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm glad you're enjoying the book and the series. I look forward to hearing whether you see a change in Dani from the previous books. It may be my imagination.
Keep in mind that I last lived in Savannah almost 50 years ago. I last visited in 2003, so my information isn't current. Given your love of history, I think you would enjoy some of the museum houses. The Ownes-Thomas house comes to mind. The Ships of the Sea Museum might interest you as well, if it's still there. It's in a house that's of historical interest. Take a ride out to Wormsloe Plantation, especially if either of you is a nature lover.
On your way to Tybee, you'll pass Fort Pulaski. That's worth a stop. If memory serves, it was Robert E, Lee's first post after he graduated from West Point. There's also Fort Screven on Tybee Island, and the Tybee Island Lighthouse.
Leslie reminded me that the Historical Society is in a beautiful old building in Savannah. You might enjoy a visit.
